Militancy and Nigerian Government's gullibility.
Translations available in: English (original) | French | Spanish | Italian | German | Portuguese | Swedish | Russian | Dutch | Arabic

Recently, it was published in the national dailies that the Nigerian government has paid the militants in Nigeria to help put an end to their activities in the Niger-Delta region... This was what our president was defending in front of the senate as said by the national dailies. And this is believed to reduce their acts or put an end to it..Well I will say there's much to everything than money..What is the assurance that they won't even strike again so as to get more funds?
Nigerian leaders have a lot to learn about leadership and using there senses to lead..
Paying $12million is not the case. This might even cause a breakdown and kiling amongst the militants.
I guess there's alot to learn we youths of nowadays who intend to be inposition of authority.
Any one reading this should think about it; money is not the solution to everything!

priority problems
Nigerian leaders posses the habit of aproaching an issue through the window instead of reaching down to the roots. as you rightly said, money wont solve the problem, if any thing, it will only highten the problem. In my opinion, the Niger Delta crises arouse because of underdevelopment and unemployment. if these two main issues is not wisely, correctly and effectively tackled, the Niger Delta Crises will always remain.
This can only be achieved if our leaders ibibe honesty and integrity as a way of governance and life.
